Dandies are all relatively small hoofed quadrupeds. They stand about as tall and weigh about as much as an exceedingly plump child. Adult dandies all have ruffles that cover their bellies and part of their chest. These ruffles are made of various plants, fruits and flowers. The type of plants, fruits and flowers that ruffles are made of can differ drastically between dandies, as it’s dependent on what they eat. Dandy cubs have small ruffle buds inside of their bellies and chests that develop into plants, fruits and flowers that mimic the ones eaten by the cub. Dandies can also grow smaller patches of flora or mini ruffles on other parts of their bodies. Ruffles produce and spread ruffle spores, which can have a variety of effects depending on how the dandy is feeling. Ruffle spores from a happy dandy are called harvest spores. Harvest spores make plants grow faster, fruits tastier, and flowers more vibrant. Ruffle spores from a stressed or threatened dandy are called ruin spores, a lethal and painful poison. Male dandies have larger and fuller ruffles and a single set of small horns that curve backward. The horns seem to be remnants of a diverging evolutionary path, as they’re too awkwardly shaped to serve any functional purpose. Female dandies do not grow horns and have more mini ruffles, especially around the head and mane. Most dandies have spotted patterns that span across their coats.
